Infectious diseases are one of the serious disease groups that can develop with acute or time-consuming complications and pose a life-threatening risk.

Diagnosis and treatment services of these diseases and microbiological laboratory studies are carried out by Infectious Diseases and Microbiology units.

There are many types of diseases that fall into the field of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology.

In our hospital, the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of all kinds of diseases caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses and parasites are carried out meticulously by multidisciplinary teams consisting of specialist physicians and health workers in the light of up-to-date information.

The following diseases are diagnosed, treated and followed up in the Infectious Diseases Unit.

• Tick bite and Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever

• Travel-related infections (Prevention and Treatment)

• Nervous system infections including meningitis and encephalitis

• Bloodstream and catheter-related infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Etiology investigation of fever of unknown origin

• Influenza (including H1N1 flu) and Colds

• Hepatitis A

• Hepatitis B

• Hepatitis C

• AIDS(HIV)

• Infectious mononucleosis(EBV) and Cytomegalovirus infection(CMV)

• Other viral diseases

In addition, consultation services are provided to the patients who are followed up in the intensive care unit and other services of our hospital. There are two negative pressure isolation rooms for patients who need inpatient follow-up and treatment.
